We are excited to announce that construction progress on the 2,750 addition has begun.  On December 23, 2014, the first visible sign of progress was made with the delivery of the yellow bulldozer.  On January 13, 2015, the project sign was posted in our front lawn.  These two significant events have increased our hopes that the expansion is becoming realty.

In November 2013, the WKCAC was awarded a Community Block Grant from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission sponsored by Lonoke County to build an addition to our existing facility doubling the size of the Center.  We have learned that construction processes are exciting and meticulous all at the same time!  Plans are drawn and refined, redrawn and bided out to prospective contractors. We are excited that Jancour Construction Company of Palestine, Arkansas, will be responsible for our building project and Robert Schelle, Architect, will direct our building project to completion.  Central Arkansas Planning and Development have been instrumental in guiding us through the process and supporting our needs to provide additional services to our child-victims, their non-offending families and out partnering agencies.   We are deeply appreciative to Lonoke County Judge Doug Erwin, Senator Eddie Joe Williams, Representative Walls McCrary and other elected officials for their support to achieve this expansion.

The project is projected to take 180 days however; weather could possibly affect this timeframe.  We are hopeful that we will have a new addition and a renovated existing facility by July 2015!
